12 teams from six schools attended the 2nd annual North Carolina Open Academic State Tournament,
sponsored by the North Carolina Academic Team Association (NCATA) and Duke College Bowl. The day began
with six preliminary rounds of Swiss pairs followed by playoffs with Varsity and JV teams initially
competing together.
